What is the TypeFinder for the Workplace assessment?
The TypeFinder for the Workplace is a validated, updated assessment of the 16 personality types created in the 1960's by Isabel Myers and Katharine Briggs. Based on four major personality preferences that address an individual's way of managing energy, making decisions, and relating to others, and tailored specifically for business applications, the TypeFinder for the Workplace can bring new insight to almost any development goal—from communication to conflict management to leadership.
What does the TypeFinder for the Workplace measure?
The TypeFinder assesses the four preference pairs developed by Isabel Briggs Myers, via independently validated scales based on research conducted with a diverse global sample. These preference pairs reference key components of thought and behavior and provide insight into many aspects of work style.
- Extraversion vs. Introversion. This measure of energy style describes whether a person is energized by the outside world of activity and other people, or the internal world of thought and feeling.
- Sensing vs. Intuition. This measure of cognitive style describes whether a person focuses on facts and details, or theory and big-picture understanding.
- Thinking vs. Feeling. This measure of values style describes whether a person prioritizes concerns of logic and rationality, or person-centered concerns like empathy and harmony.
- Judging vs. Perceiving. This measure of task management style describes whether a person tends to be more structured and planned, or spontaneous and flexible.
